Ich suche Infos über Kidô Maru. Mir gefällt das Ukiyo-e von ihm auf der Schlange.

"Kidōmaru is known as both a robber and a magician... The instruction that he receives here from the tengu can only be described as a sort of mystical experience involving self-purgation - he accesses a side of himself that he hitherto was not fully aware of. This Kidōmaru is not derived from the usual source, the Zen Taiheiki, rather he seems to be inspired by Takizawa Bakin's yomihon, Shitennō shōtō iroku (Strange Story of the Eradication of the Wicked Four Retainers,1806). In this yomihon, Kidōmaru competes in practicing magic with Hakamadare Yasuuke. Kidōmaru conjures up a poisonous serpent, whereas Yasuuke produces an eagle.

After Minamoto Raiko had killed the yokai Shuten Doji, all the girls he had kidnapped ("eaten") were set free to go home. But one had gone so out of her mind, she did not remember where she was from. She was pregnant and eventually gave birth to a baby with all teeth already there. This "Demon Child" 鬼童 Kido grew up and went to Kyoto, trying to kill the brother of Raiko. But he did not succeed and got caught himself.
He is the subject of legends of its own."

Hallo.

Danke Ist er bekannt in Japan? Warum will denn Kido Raikos Bruder töten? Raiko hat doch den Oger getötet. Der Oger war Kidos Vater?

Ist echt nicht so einfach was zu finden. Oft stößt man auf Animes. Ich möchte mich dann doch etwas informieren, bevor ich mich für ein bestimmtes Motiv entscheide. Vielleicht ist Kido ja ein blutrünstiger Mörder.. Das würde mir nicht gefallen

Es ist echt nicht leicht etwas zu ihm zu finden.

Aber hier ist noch ein Teil seiner Geschichte:
"Kidoumaru is a Japanese Yokai monster mentioned in a book "Kokon Chomonjou" in 1254.

In Kamakura era, a samurai Minamotono Yorimitsu who beat Shutendouji (boss of a yokai gang in Kyoto) visited his younger brother Yorinobu's house where Kidoumaru was captured and kept tied by the bathroom. Yorimitsu ordered to make sure Kidoumaru won't run away. During the night, Kidoumaru easily broke out and searched Yorimitsu. Yorimitsu noticed Kidoumaru was hearing him behind the door, then Yorimitsu said to his soldiers "I will visit Kurama shrine tomorrow". Kidoumaru went to Kurama in advance next day, killed an ox in a field, wore its skin to hide, then waited Yorimitsu to come. Yorimitsu noticed Kidoumaru again, and ordered to shoot the ox. Kidoumaru ran towards Yorimitsu with his sword, but Yorimitsu killed Kidoumaru with one slash."

Also von Yorimitsu hab ich auch mal gehört. Er hatte glaube ich vier Leibwächter. Einer davon war Kintaro, der sich dann Kintoki nannte.

Kann es denn sein, dass Yorimitsu, Raiko ist?

Aber warum wollte er ihn umbringen? Weil Raiko seinen "Vater" umgebracht hat? In deinem Zitat heißt es ja aber:
Kido grew up and went to Kyoto, trying to kill the brother of Raiko.. Wer war denn sein Bruder? Yorinobu?

Ja, dass ist alles sehr verwirrend. Die Dämonen (Yokai/Oni) sind unter unterschiedlichen Namen bekannt, genauso wie die Samurai.

Also ich verstehe die Geschichte so (alle Angaben ohne Gewähr ):
Minamoto Raiko tötete Shuten Dōji, Kidoumarus Vater. Minamoto Yorinobu (Minamoto Raikos Bruder) nahm später Kidoumaru gefangen. Doch Kidoumarus konnte sich befreien und startete diese Aktion mit dem Ochsenfell um Yorinobu zu töten. Das ging aber in die Hose.

Ich weiß nur noch nicht, wie das Bild von Kidoumaru mit der Schlange da rein passt. Könnte natürlich auch nur künstlerische Freiheit sein.
